Well, I would like to use this to express my feelings about this action.
And you can actually block somebody on tumblr? I didn’t knew that.
What does that even entail?
Unless something fucked up with my dash it means when people see reblogs of his posts, our reblogs don’t show up in the notes list. So nobody who follows him will see neither my assholery, S/D attempts at stopping me or scarlet-sasquatch’s well thought and put criticism. Dunno if we can enter his blog, I don’t feel like giving a try and hellyeahteensuperheroes isn’t my main blog anyway.
I think it’s only the lack of blog ID-ing. As I did try to see if I could submit an ask, as I suspected I got a ‘ban’ form him back when I commented on his Undercover preview post thing where he said the artist was “Killing it!” if you recall.
Which means I can say “I was blocked by Hopeless before it was cool.”
It’s a really bad mechanic, actually, as people who aren’t on the ban list who see that comment can comment on that and reblog that source comment with impunity, and thus spread it further. It also doesn’t prevent one from submitting asks if one has the inclination. It’s the most anemic block I’ve ever seen.
It’s either that or there’s another mechanic to simply block messages they don’t want seen.
Wait, what did you do to get blocked? Point out the terrible pun or…?
I pointed out a few things: namely, that he is in no position to call a fellows work “Killing it” on an Arena/Undercover title because it just invites mocking it (or as I put it ” It makes my hobby of mocking it and its predecessor in general far to easy to even be worth it.”)
Then I pointed out that the reason why he should avoid that phrasing is because he has effectively ended almost half a dozen franchises. You can see how the jokes would write themselves now can’t you?
I then followed that up by saying the only real suspense I had was just how much cleanup would be left for the next writer to do when he’s done with them.
Cullen Bunn himself responded with a repetition gag on the first point, leaving the others untouched. I took it jovially because it got me to giggle. I’m sick that way.
Both my message and Cullen’s do not show up on the feed, but many people reblogged those messages in particular over the original post. I think if I didn’t comment, that post would not have breached 50 reblogs.
Take a look at it yourself.
This is me on ‘low’ and with the best intentions by the way. I really have yet to tear into someone at full bore.
Wow, So he really does just block people for not fawning over his work? Regardless of how Well spoken The critique is? He needs to learn how to give a counterargument beyond ‘its not for you’ And get some thicker skin…
